Fear of the unknown – #haiku plus commentary for #meditation

stressed to the limit,
it’s the fear of the unknown –
frozen by concept

Haiku by Stephanie Mohan – December 2014

Commentary for meditation and reflection

Fear of the unknown can make you very stressed and effectively freeze you into a state of indecision and inaction

It is a type of fear based on a need to feel in control and discomfort with being unclear and uncertain about the future.

When we begin to understand that both the past and the future only exist in our minds i.e.”mental formations”, we can begin to trust and enjoy the practice of doing whatever we are doing right now with mindful skill…and let go of the need to know exactly what the future holds.
