In conversations with the dead

In conversations with the dead;
mourning lovers kneel by writ upon stones;
in one-way discourse they sadly moan;
lamenting heartfelt words they wish they’d said.

  1. How very poignant. I guess the lesson is that if we have something we want to say, we really should say it while we can.

  2. For many of us Indigenous people, the dead are with us. They have a reality and an immediacy that is difficult for many non-Indigenous people to understand. I talk with some Ancestors a good deal.
