Tiled outdoor tabletop

I just finished laying tiles on an old outdoor timber dining table, using tiles collected from roadside collection “waste”.
Often, people order a few too many tiles for a job and don’t know what to do with the excess. Some thoughtful types give them away for free or put them out somewhere visible with the monthly roadside collection ….and sometimes I find them.

I have collected an interesting mix of tiles, which enables me to have a bit of fun with creative projects like this.

The timber table  was also something that was thrown out as garbage and “saved” for further use.

I am glad that the table and the tiles have a new lease of life and will be used and enjoyed for many more years to come.
For reflection: when you have excess materials, do you make them available for others to make good use of them through recycling or repurposing?

  4. This table really looks beautiful! Much better than those ones produced in mass production. πŸ˜‰

  5. Loved this table. We get too much rain in winter to have anything with wood out. It would be a great summer table if I find one to re-purpose. Great job.
