Quick retreat

Heart awakening from a long dark night;

fragile and tender fronds uncurl;

in the centre, a cloudy pearl;

a hint of mirrored surface bright.

Morning sunshine, incandescent glow;

recoiling from such daring glare;

sheets thrown over, cover the bare;

quick retreat back to safe and known.

  1. Lovely … I can relate … though the path I took was uncharacteristically irrational. Thank you for sharing.
